I am Praroop Lodha, an investment professional with a diverse background that reflects my unwavering commitment to excellence and a genuine passion for identifying and nurturing promising early and growth-stage startups.
During my academic years at IIT Bombay, where I pursued civil engineering, I embarked on my investment journey through internships at distinguished venture capital funds and family offices such as Picus Capital, Sauce.VC, and Machani Group. My leadership skills took center stage when I served as the Head of Marketing at my college's Entrepreneurship Cell, Asia's Largest Student-Run Entrepreneurship Promoting body. I oversaw significant events and competitions at national and international scales, including the launch of the first NFT on campus and India's Biggest Virtual Stock Market Competition (with 10K+ participants). I represented my college at Expo 2020 in Dubai, scaled events to six countries in the GCC region, actively sourced investment opportunities for associated VC firms, and gained valuable insights into the global startup ecosystem, influencing my current investment strategies.
At Samarthya, I manage investments across all sectors, with a particular focus on Deeptech, Cleantech, Healthtech, and Consumer. I actively engage in the entire deal acquisition process, from identifying opportunities and assessing them to conducting due diligence and making investments. Additionally, I provide ongoing support to our invested companies, overseeing investor relations and daily operations. Noteworthy contributions in multi-million dollar deals like Nutrifresh, Agnikul, Cab-E, and others underscore my significant impact within Samarthya's portfolio.
A true baniya-Marwari, I find joy in exploring Rajasthani and Gujarati cuisines and engaging in discussions about traditional businesses on Sundays. Beyond work, my passions include travel, cricket (especially supporting RCB and Virat Kohli), and regularly delving into podcasts on business and economics.
