Note - in case of NRI or Foreign National, Documents of director(S) must be notarized or apostilled.
Requirements

Types of FSSAI Licenses

  • Basic Registration -- Required if your turnover is less than 12 lakh rupees
  • State License -- Required if your turnover is between 12 lakh to 20 crores rupees
  • Central License -- Required if your turnover exceeds 20 crore rupees.
Compliance

FSSAI License Validity & Renewal

  • FSSAI license issued to food businesses is valid for a minimum period of 1 year and maximum period of 5 years.
  • It is mandatory to apply for license restoration 30 days before the expiry of the existing license.
  • Non-restoration of licenses can fetch a fine of Rs.100 per day until the restoration is done.
  • Any lapse in restoration within the specified date can result in the old license becoming defunct and businesses will have to apply for a fresh license.
